Hepsia v. cPanel

cPanel is one of the best-known web hosting Control Panels around, and it has been used by hosting companies for many years. But popularity does not automatically make a Control Panel the best choice for everyone. A Control Panel can be packed with features and still be frustrating to use. After all, something that may have seemed perfectly acceptable years ago does not necessarily remain the easiest or most efficient way to manage websites today.

There are several good Control Panels available, but after using different systems myself, I have become a strong supporter of Hepsia. It is the Control Panel I use for my own websites, and my personal experience has been excellent. For me, it is the fastest and easiest hosting Control Panel I have ever encountered. By comparison, my own experiences with cPanel and hPanel in 2025 left me far less impressed. I found cPanel extremely slow and confusing to work with, while my experience with hPanel was particularly frustrating because several of my websites were using a single database rather than being kept separately in the way I expected.

That is, of course, my personal experience. Other users may reach different conclusions, and cPanel remains a capable and widely used Control Panel. But when it comes to straightforward website management, I believe Hepsia has some very convincing advantages.

Here are some of the most important differences between the cPanel web hosting Control Panel and the Hepsia Control Panel:

Hepsia v. cPanel

Hepsia
cPanel

1. Domain/billing/website controls

Hepsia - Domain/billing/website controls With Hepsia, you can administer your sites, domain names and billing from a single place. I find this particularly convenient because you do not have to keep moving between separate management systems just to carry out ordinary hosting tasks.
cPanel - Domain/billing/website controls With cPanel, the hosting Control Panel and your provider's billing and domain-management system may be separate. cPanel itself is primarily focused on managing the hosting account, while domain registration, renewal and billing are generally handled through the hosting provider.

2. File structure

Hepsia - File structure With Hepsia, websites are arranged in a way that makes each domain easy to identify and manage independently. For someone running several websites, I find this structure much easier to understand and work with.
cPanel - File structure With cPanel, multiple domains can also have their own document-root directories, so the old description that all add-on domains simply sit inside the main domain's folder is no longer accurate. Even so, I personally find the overall organization in Hepsia easier to follow when managing several websites.

3. File Manager

Hepsia - File Manager With the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can take advantage of drag-and-drop file uploads directly in the File Manager. It also supports archive and unarchive functions, right-click contextual menus and straightforward file management. This is one of the areas where I find Hepsia especially pleasant to use.
cPanel - File Manager The cPanel File Manager has improved considerably over the years and now supports features such as drag-and-drop uploads and archive extraction. It is therefore much fairer to compare the two systems on overall usability rather than claim that cPanel lacks these functions.

4. Free bonuses

Hepsia - Free bonuses With Hepsia, you receive a wide range of integrated tools and extras designed to make everyday hosting tasks easier. The exact services available can depend on the hosting plan, but the strong point is that many useful functions are brought together inside the same Control Panel.
cPanel - Free bonuses With cPanel, the additional tools and services available to you depend to a large extent on the web hosting provider and the package you choose. Some providers add many useful extras, while others offer a much more basic cPanel installation.

5. Control Panel speed

Hepsia - Control Panel speed Hepsia feels extremely fast to me. I have used it for my own websites and, based on my personal experience, it is the fastest hosting Control Panel I have ever encountered. Pages open quickly, the interface feels responsive and ordinary tasks can usually be completed without waiting around for the Control Panel to catch up.
cPanel - Control Panel speed cPanel is perfectly capable of getting the job done, but my own experience with it in 2025 was very different from my experience with Hepsia. I found cPanel extremely slow at times, particularly when carrying out routine tasks, and I also found the interface more confusing than Hepsia. Performance can vary considerably between hosting providers and servers, so this is best understood as my personal experience rather than a universal benchmark.

6. Mutli-domain controls

Hepsia - Mutli-domain controls Administering 10 different websites with the Hepsia web hosting CP is not something I find particularly difficult. The interface is designed to let you work with multiple sites from the same account without making the process unnecessarily complicated. This is one of the main reasons I prefer Hepsia for managing several websites.
cPanel - Mutli-domain controls You can certainly host multiple websites under a single cPanel hosting account, and experienced users may have no trouble doing so. Personally, however, I find that managing a larger number of sites in cPanel is less intuitive than doing the same thing in Hepsia, particularly when you are dealing with many domains, files, databases and other settings.

7. Control Panel navigation

Hepsia - Control Panel navigation The Hepsia hosting CP keeps the interface relatively clean and focuses attention on the functions you are most likely to need. Its menus make it easy to move between different areas without making the screen feel overloaded. This is another feature that I particularly appreciate because I can normally find what I need without having to think about where it has been hidden.
cPanel - Control Panel navigation cPanel has changed considerably over the years and now includes improved navigation and search features. Nevertheless, when I used it in 2025, I found the interface much more confusing than Hepsia. There were simply too many things competing for my attention, and I often found myself spending more time looking for a particular function than I would have liked.

8. Demo accounts

Hepsia - Demo accounts The Hepsia CP features a fully featured live demo with only certain functions disabled. You can explore the interface, upload files, manage demo domains, create databases and try many of the functions you would use in a real hosting account. That makes it much easier to get a genuine feel for how Hepsia works before making a decision.
cPanel - Demo accounts The cPanel hosting Control Panel also offers demo accounts that allow prospective users to explore the interface, although certain actions are restricted. It is useful for getting familiar with cPanel, but I personally find that Hepsia gives me a more convincing impression of what day-to-day website management actually feels like.

This list could carry on and on. There is nothing wrong with choosing cPanel if it suits you, and experienced cPanel users may be perfectly happy with it. My own experience has simply been different. After using several hosting Control Panels, including cPanel and hPanel in 2025, I found Hepsia much easier, faster and more comfortable to work with. It is the Control Panel I use for my own websites, and I am 100% satisfied with it.

Rather than simply reading about these hosting Control Panels, why not give Hepsia a try with our Live Demo? You can see for yourself how the interface works and decide whether it feels as comfortable to you as it does to me.
